"Many individuals from all around the nation came to support us during our 40 days of sleeping on the roadways. Accompanied by a few other wrestlers involved in the protest, she declared, "I will quit wrestling if Brij Bhushan Singh's business partner and a close aide is elected as the president of WFI." Sakshi Malik said just before the protest against the election of New President of WFI.
After Sakshi Malik's abandoning Westling, India's top wrestler Bajrang Punia, on Friday itself declared that he is returning his Padma Shri following the election of the federation's president by the assistant of former WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, declared he would not be taking the medal home and will drop it on the sidewalk next to Kartavya Path in central Delhi. He wrote out a letter to PM Modi and passed that, "I am not able to appoint a meet with Modi sir that's why addressing the statement through the letter."
Adding to the Media he further addressed "As I already stated, we were battling for our sisters and daughters. I was unable to bring them to justice. I believe I don't deserve this honor as a result. I came in to return my award, but since I didn't have an appointment, I was unable to see PM. PM has a full itinerary. I am attaching my award to the letter I am sending to the PM. "I refuse to bring this medal home," Bajrang Punia declared to the press.
After the sorrowful commitments, Congress Leader Priyanka Gandhi and Deepender Hooda were there to meet the victims. According to Deepender Hooda, Priyanka Gandhi promised the wrestlers that she would support them in their pursuit of justice till the very end. Congress is on their side, Priyanka ji conformed them. The way our female wrestlers have been treated has brought sadness to our entire country. This is regretful. We promised them our all support," Hooda remarked.
Giving more insights from different parties on wrestlers Sakshee Malik and Bajrang Punia, NCP MP Supriya Sule says, "...The Union Sports Minister should meet them and listen to what they have to have."
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi says, "You are saving a man who has serious charges against him. The female wrestlers were promised that any persons associated with Brij Bhushan would not be elected to WFI. What Bajrang Punia had to do was shameful because he did not get justice."
